Special Health Camp for Journalists in Dehradun on the directions of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

In a proactive step towards the welfare of media professionals, a special free health camp was organized on Tuesday in Dehradun under the directions of Hon’ble Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Jointly conducted by the Department of Health and the Department of Information & Public Relations, the camp provided free medical check-ups to over 350 journalists and their family members.

Held at the Directorate of Information premises on Ring Road, the initiative aimed to address the healthcare needs of journalists who often remain busy in the field with limited time for personal health care.

Senior specialists from Government Doon Medical College – including cardiologists, gynecologists, orthopedists, pediatricians, psychiatrists, ENT, and ophthalmology experts – offered consultations and on-the-spot medical services.

The camp was inaugurated by Secretary Health Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar and DG Information  Bansidhar Tiwari. Dr. Kumar emphasized the importance of such outreach, while DG Information reiterated the government’s commitment to journalist welfare under the leadership of CM Dhami.

In addition to health consultations, services like pathology tests, Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID registration, and Vay Vandana Card issuance were also facilitated. Many attendees were diagnosed with first-time conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and vision issues, and received timely medical advice and medicines.

_”Media professionals often remain engaged around the clock, making it difficult for them to prioritize their health. This special camp was organized to ensure they receive the necessary care. Going forward, similar initiatives will continue to be organized.” – Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand_
